New Priest in Charge on his way

It was announced at the Harvest Festival on October 6th that a new Priest in Charge has been appointed by the Bishop for our Benefice. He is Rev'd Brian McQuillen who has sometimes taken some of our services during this period of transistion. He is to be licensed at a service at St Goran on Wednesday 20th November at 6.30 p.m. from when he will begin his ministry with us. His will be an interim post for two years. He will be living at the Vicarage at Gorran Churchtown but that will not happen immeadiately because notice has to be given to the current occupants of the property. We look forward to Brian and his wife Melva being with us for the next two years as we walk this Christian journey together.

The idea of the interim post is that part of Brian's role will be to prepare the parishes for working more widely within the deanery as the deanery plan is developed for the future. This future is directly connected to the recent decision by the Church Commissioners to agree to expanding the Transforming Mission project to Liskeard, Truro, Camborne and St Austell.
